A stop in at the Biker Parties calendar for December, at Biker Parties, shows surprisingly few open events. But let me tell you, there are plenty of motorcycle clubs, associations, businesses and organizations putting on some big, fun parties all over town. I know of at least one we will definitely be doing, maybe even two or three if time and family permits.
What a nice, festive way to keep in touch with riding friends after the bike is tucked away all safe and cozy for the Winter!
Speaking of Holidays, the Picture Blanket I mentioned in a previous Biker Art message is being so heavily ordered that no more orders can be taken in time for Holiday deliver. But, you can still order for any time in the New Year of 2007. It’s a happy holiday indeed for our friend who makes the blankets.
What else can I say but when it comes to the Winter Holidays, there’s no man like a snowman!
For those of you receiving our Holiday cards this year in the mail, wait until you see it, hope you’ll enjoy the art on the card. And to everyone reading, hope you’ll fully enjoy these wonderful Winter Holidays.
My best to you,
HWD

A look at this month’s calendar over at Biker Parties reminds me that the 21st Annual Chili Challenge a/k/a Roscoe’s Chili Challenge, held down in Lakeland, Florida, has already passed by earlier in November.
I’m a soft touch for great chili, and I’ve heard that the food is tremendous at this Chili Challenge and so is the weekend party there. With plenty of bands, a selection of about 20 vendors, and all the great chili you can eat with your beer, it must be easy to have some real fun down in Florida at the Chili Challenge.
For those of you who also love a great time with great food and party, next year’s 2007 Chili Challenge will be November 2 – 4, 2007.
Other than that earlier in November, though, this month in my area is more about some private parties, and of course family time at Thanksgiving.
Feast, enjoy, and a very Happy Thanksgiving!
My best to you,
HWD

We’re about to have a different Thanksgiving this year, and maybe it’ll become our new tradition at home.
We are trying like hell to customize a healthy heart diet here at home, one that we can keep up for the long run without losing out on some of our food faves. It’s a challenge. I’m relieved to see that unlike a decade ago, there really are some good choices for meals now. The real challenge at this moment? Our traditional bouncing around to several houses of family and having a meal at each one at Thanksgiving.
We’re keeping the turkey in our Thanksgiving, no question on that. Turkey is good on any diet. Cranberry sauce? Must have it, will just go lighter. I have to look into yams to see if they can somehow qualify as low cholesterol, light sodium, and low carb. Stuffing? Now there must be some great stuffing recipes without big time problems, more research needed there. Rolls and butter, not needed. Salad stays. Desserts? Oh no, I forgot, pies. Love pies. Maybe a sliver won’t hurt.
If we were just eating at home, this holiday would be easier to customize to a healthy heart diet, but we’ll just have to be as creative and tough as we can when out at the relatives.
Hope your Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be as tough on decisions as ours. I’m sure ours will get easier next time around with a little more experience and a little less belly under (and over) our belts.
Happy Thanksgiving!
My best to you,
HWD
